Ingredients needed:
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 cup of half & half
  • 1/2 cup rock salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pint-sized sealable plastic bag, 1 gallon-sized plastic bag
  • Any other mix-ins you'd like, such as chocolate chips, cookie pieces, chocolate syrup, or fruit

Step 1: Combine ingredients

Combine the sugar, half and half, and vanilla into the smaller plastic bag. Make sure to seal tightly.

Step 2: Get the ice ready

Fill the larger bag about halfway full will ice cubes. Sprinkle the salt over the top of the cubes, this will prevent them from melting.

Step 3: Combine bags

Place the smaller bag into the larger one and start shaking! You'll need to shake the mixture for about 10 minutes until it starts to harden to your desired consistency. Once it is almost ready, add in your mix-ins, and shake for a couple more minutes.

Step 4: Serve and enjoy

Now you have delicious ice cream all to yourself! This recipe is good for one serving of ice cream, but if you are having a party, it can easily be doubled or even tripled depending on how much you need.
